For Families

An independent evaluation, and a partner through the process.

If you want an independent, expert evaluation of your child, Thrive Collaborative guides you through the IEE process and gives you the clarity to advocate with confidence.

A parent and child together at home

First, a plain-language explanation.

An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is an assessment of your child completed by a qualified professional outside your school district, often at the district's expense. Families request an IEE when they want an independent, expert perspective on their child's needs.

Advocating for your child shouldn't feel like a fight you face alone.

The IEE process is unfamiliar. The stakes feel high. The paperwork and meetings are confusing, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed and alone, unsure whether you have the full picture of your child's needs.

How we help

Navigating an IEE is stressful, and you should not have to do it alone. We connect the dots and walk with you through the process, explaining each step in plain language, completing a thorough and genuinely independent evaluation, and giving you the knowledge to partner effectively with your district.
